FAQ
Frequently asked questions
…and the ones you might be afraid to ask.
Can’t see your question?
Give us a call or drop us a line – we’re happy to answer any question, even a whispered one.
Sign up for a free classI’ve never trained and I’m overweight. Can I do it?
Of course! What’s more, for most people who come to Enklawa, our classes are their first physical activity in a long time – or even the first in their life. YOU are exactly who we’re here for!
Are the classes only for men?
Absolutely not. CrossFit is a training programme for everyone. Women and men, young and old, fit and not-so-fit. Women make up a large part of our community, and in many classes they are a clear majority.
Will I have to race against anyone in class?
No. CrossFit is often associated with intense training against the clock, but for us it’s just one way of motivating you to give it your all. We don’t write scores on the board in class, and everyone focuses on doing the exercises correctly.
Which classes should I start with?
If you have no CrossFit experience, you can start with CrossFit45. In these classes the coach adjusts the workout to each participant’s abilities every time.
Is CrossFit safe?
Very – we think it’s much safer than sitting on the sofa. Enklawa’s coaches are highly experienced, certified instructors who look after your safety every day. Unlike training at a regular gym, where you’re usually left on your own, here you’re always under a coach’s care.
How will CrossFit affect my body? Will I lose weight? Will I get too muscular?
CrossFit is a training programme designed to make people as fit as possible. People who do it are ready for any challenge, whether in the club, on the pitch or in everyday life. Even so, its “side effect” is a great impact on your figure, especially when you combine training with healthy eating (which we’ll help you with too). It won’t be a bodybuilder’s physique, though, but a healthy, lean and athletic one. Come and have a look around the club – you’ll see what we mean.
I’m over 40 (or over 50). Isn’t it too late?
Definitely not. Many of our members started at exactly that age – often as their first regular physical activity in years. We adjust every workout to your level, not the other way round, so age is never an obstacle here. And if you’d like to bring your mum along, our schedule also includes Active Senior classes, where we help people build fitness even in their seventies!
I have something that bothers me now and then – my knee or my back, for example. Can I start?
Yes, but it’s worth starting wisely. If the problem still makes itself felt, a good first step may be a consultation at Enklawa Recovery – you’ll work on moving comfortably before you start regular training. If you’d rather start straight away, tell the coach before your first class and we’ll adapt everything to you.
Do you accept Multisport cards?
We don’t accept Multisport-type cards – and, surprising as it may sound, that’s good news for you. We are a small, friendly club where we treat every member individually: we care about your goals, adapt exercises to your needs, including those related to injuries, and want you to feel at home with us. To us you’re a person, not a card swiped at the door. See for yourself – your first class is free and with no commitment.
I’m afraid I’ll embarrass myself in front of others – will everyone be watching me?
We understand that worry, but in practice it’s completely different. Everyone in the room remembers their first workout and knows it’s normal – nobody here judges you. Your only opponent in the room is yourself from before the workout.
What should I bring to my first class?
Comfortable sportswear, training shoes and a water bottle (there’s a free filtered water dispenser in the gym) – that’s really all. We provide the rest – equipment and instructions – on site.
How often do I need to come to see results?
Three times a week is the optimal base that we always recommend. At that frequency you’ll usually notice the first results – more energy, better sleep, growing confidence in how you move – within the first few weeks.
Do I need to sign up in advance, or can I just turn up?
Sign up in advance – it lets us prepare for your first class and match the group to the number of places. It literally takes a moment, and you can be sure we’re expecting you.
I’ve trained CrossFit in another city or club. Is it easy to switch to Enklawa’s programme?
Very easy. As an affiliated CrossFit club, in our CrossFit60 classes we follow CrossFit Affiliate Programming – the same system used by boxes all over the world. If the club where you usually train also uses CAP, you’ll find the same WOD on our board that would be on the one “at home”. Book a drop-in or a trial week and see for yourself what training with us is like.
I have a very specific goal, such as competing. Can I count on an individual approach?
Yes! Our personal training offer is aimed at exactly people like you. You can train fully one-on-one or combine 1:1 sessions with group classes – tailored to your goal, not taken from a ready-made package.
